The origins of Aldo

Aldo was established by Aldo Bensadoun who began the Aldo footwear range in 1972 which was a leased space within 4 leading clothing retail stores in Montreal. The first stand alone Aldo store was opened in 1978 and rapidly grew that by as early as the 80's Aldo had over 90 freestanding stores. 1993 the company expanded to the United States, and the years that followed lead to more expansion with franchise deals expanding throughout the world. Expansion further led the company to ever-growing success of over 1,000 stores throughout 65 countries across the world. 

Aldo South Africa was founded in September 2005, this was when the international brand launched its very first store within the country. Today the brand showcases 26 stores nationwide and South Africans can enjoy the same reputable quality and leading fashion trends as seen in America, Canada and Europe.
