The origins of Volvo
Volvo was established in 1927 Gothernburg Sweden and was owned by Svenska Kullagerfabriken AB which is well renowned ball bearing and seal factory located in Gothernburg. Asser Gavbrielsson was appointed as the car manufacturer's managing director and Gustav Larsen as the technical manager. Together the pair strived to go about creating a special automobile line with one of the core focuses being safety. The first Volvo made an appearance in 1927, from there on the company thrived in creating excellent cars and grew in popularity. The split in the company's initiative gave rise to Volvo Cars or Volvo Car Corporation previously owned by Ford since 1999 and now by Chinese car manufacturer Geely and the other being Volvo Group specialising in commercial vehicles and it is Swedish owned.
